Hello folks.

Chris here at Doc channel HQ blogging to let you know that now that the dust has settled and the red glare of the rockets has faded we at doc are proud to offer you one more opportunity to celebrate your independents (which by the way refers to independent films not so much that whole “freedom” thing). That’s right folks from now until the month’s end it’s Americana Month on the Documentary Channel and we’ve got a slew of films that showcase the weird and wonderful nature of the country we call home. From Elvis impersonators to legendary photographers all month long we’ll be offering up one slab after another of good ‘ole American Pie (no not the Don McClean song or the sexually obessessed teen comedies). So beat the heat sequester yourself indoors with a pitcher of icy cool lemonade and keep the dial tuned to Doc. You’ll thank us later.

Just wanted to take a moment and say that we hope each and everyone of you out there had a pleasant 4th of July yesterday. Filled with all the sorts of fun things that a typical July 4th should have. Food, Fireworks and marathon doses of The Documentary Channel! Ok, admittedly the last part may not be a part of your families’ routine just yet but it should be. Just think of the benefits:

1. When watching Doc it is almost never necessary to stop, drop or roll.

2. Doc actually helps you avoid cavities and excess calories you might have had to worry about if you weren’t occupied by quality entertainment.

3. Doc is high in fiber and makes a great breakfast treat.

this last part actually refers to a breakfast bar that I ingested this morning but the above two are totally true.
