Nashville Film Fest Update

Tuesday, April 25th, 2006

Well, if you missed the screening of our fearless leader Tom Neff?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s film ?¢‚Ǩ?ìChances: The Women of Magdalene,?¢‚Ǩ¬ù on Friday evening you still have one more opportunity (I was gonna say chance, but I resisted the pun) to catch the film when it screens again Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m. You did, however, miss the Doc Channel-sponsored after party for attendees of the screening in the VIP tent. I cannot begin to explain the degree to which you missed out. Adult beverages were served, pins juggled, swords swallowed (I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢m soooo far from joking about those last two by the way).
Directly following the Q&A with Tom and some of the women from the film, things moved down to the VIP area, where the Doc Channel had a tent set up to do a little on-site interviewing (we?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll have some of our footage available to be checked out on our website www.documentarychannel.com in the Screening Room area before too long. (We managed to get an exclusive interview with Keifer Sutherland, who was in attendance to support the documentary film ?¢‚Ǩ?ìI Trust You To Kill Me?¢‚Ǩ¬ù).
Oh, and FYI, the swallowed swords that I mentioned earlier were courtesy of our good friend HalfDan (see you can?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t make stuff like this up!). We encourage you to find him on Myspace and make him your friend.
You?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll be hearing a bit more from us about the rest of the festival and the people who make it work, whether they be filmmakers, festival goers or the folks behind the scenes, before things wrap up on Wednesday. So keep an eye out and an ear open.

Chris

Doc Channel at Nashville Film Fest: Be There or be Square

Wednesday, April 12th, 2006

There are always new things going on here at The Documentary Channel and this week is no different. In fact, I?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve got a couple of big ones for you. First and foremost, for those of you who have painted our logo and your faces and chests, donned foam fingers and attempted to make your very own Doc Channel memorabilia at home with sharpies and iron-on letters and such can finally lower your outraged foam fists and prepare to really support your favorite 24 documentary film channel in style. The best way to do this is to visit our new Doc Channel merchandise shop at http://www.cafepress.com/docchannnel where you can find everything from Doc Channel bumper stickers to tote bags (come on man, everybody likes a good tote bag) and as if that weren?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢t already too much excitement for a single weeks blog to hold, we are also proud to announce the Nashville Film Festival screening of our very own founder and CEO Tom Neff?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢s new film ?¢‚Ǩ?ìChances: The Women of Magdalene,?¢‚Ǩ¬ù The Film will be screening April 21st in Nashville at the Green Hills Regal 16 Theatre beginning at 7:00 p.m. with a panel discussion immediately following. Furthermore if you should happen to spot myself or any of my fellow Doc Channelees at the festival we hope you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ll come up and say hello. and if you happen to be wearing some of our merch at the time I can practically guarantee you at least one high five so you?¢‚Ǩ‚Ñ¢ve got that going for you, which is nice.
